Name change and updates

On April 22^nd, 2020 Pieces of Sky artcrafts changed officially it’s name in Sky Shard artcraft, rendering de facto the old Pieces of Sky a simple wing dedicated to requests and comissions. Here are the changes that will follow.

1. A new website, skyshard.art, will be completed by the end of this month. The overhauling is needed not only to make a more simple and professional preface, but to avoid the lack of visitors linked to the overusage of “pieces of sky” as a syntactic unit.
2. As the main projects are becoming proper, fully fledged narrations, to the point of going towards the idea of visual novels, was needed a new uncluttered information portal, unpopulated by twitter-esque posts.
3. Parallel to the website overhaul, will be the also the refurbishment of the whole infrastructure (PC, workdesk, archive software, digital paint software and hardware) that will start in June, also helped by the CoViD-related falling prices.
4. Due the website being full of bilingual contents up the the revision 3/2020 (basically what is written two posts before), the language filters can ghost Pieces of Sky from the search results.
5. The new website will support a good array of plugins, especially a watermarking one for the images: equivalent to the artistical world of the web, exists an equally bigger underworld of plagiarized contents.

6. Pieces of Sky will be empited, the website becoming a tabula rasa. For a renewal of what will become a side-gate, every casual content will be put aside, and a proper rebuilt made. This refurbishment will start once the new Sky Shard site will be completed.

In the weight of the situation that we are living quarantined, lightness is welcome and appreciated.

Tweaks and changes

Between today and tomorrow, the website will receive some changes, as follows:

1. the website will abandon Italian language as one of the main two languages in the posts, as contents in Italian will be migrated to a new website,

2. twinkle star comics will be transformed in gallery, and divided into 3 sections, comics, images and completed requests,

3. the section called Stories will be deleted,

4. section of Requests will be refurbished,

5. will be added a Ko-Fi link to support Pieces of Sky,

6. a indipendent section for CoViD will be established for a fast way of information linked to the pandemic.

🇬🇧 After a heavy cold I was craving after some artistic buzz, and so I decided to continue on Star Seeder, that by first plan is to be completed the next winter.

Here in Romania is already 16 degrees, and this is adding over the past months: the winter is so warm my roses started literally budding themselves by December.

I finally enter the subtle self-earnism territory, with Ko-Fi being where I finally decided to open a page. Wish me good luck and here’s the ko-fi time. In few days, I will add a proper permalink for this.

🇮🇹 Dopo un pesante raffreddore di cui sono reduce con non pochi segni, ho deciso di nutrire la mia mente di nuovo con creazioni artistiche. Ho ripreso la scelta di lavorare su Lampioncina Stella.

Qui in Romania ci sono già 16° e questa cosa si aggiunge al tepore già vissuto nei mesi scorsi: il caldo è tale che le mie rose hanno già iniziato a fare i boccioli partendo da dicembre.

Sono finalmente entrato nel territorio dell’autoconquista scegliendo fra i vari portali che permettono supporto via PayPal uno chiamato Ko-Fi. Auguratemi buona fortuna. Qui potete vedere il portale.

OCs for Lampioncina Stella: Heras

🇬🇧 Here we go with the first draft for the Starchildren, or Heras (from hindi हीरा “heera”, shiner). This guardians are in number of thousands, so yes, next drawings will be pretty complex.

🇮🇹 Ecco qui con il concetto per i Bambini di Stella o Bambini di Luce, oppure Heras (dal hindi हीरा “heera”, colui che brilla). Queste guardiane sono presenti a migliaia, quindi si, i prossimi disegni diventeranno più impegnativi.

Goodbye, sayings

🇬🇧 The Sayings section, for now reachable trough the main menu on the upper part of the web portal, will be deleted starting November the 1st due null visiting number.

The images will be available for postcard requests under an ad-hoc category.

🇮🇹 La sezione Sayings, per adesso raggiungibile dal menù in alto nel portale web, verrà eliminata a partire dal 1° Novembre a causa di un numero di visite nullo.

Le immagini saranno disponibili come richieste cartoline sotto una relativa sezione creata ad hoc.

Sister Luna and Sister Sole

🇬🇧 Took a bit, but a small concept two pages wide was properly finished. These two sisters were simply an excuse to use the fold between the pages as a fulcrum for a sketch, but in time took a more serious way, with a proper shading and a good scale quarter of a moon.

🇮🇹 É stato necessario un po’ di tempo, ma un concetto ampio due pagine é stato completato. Originariamente era una semplice scusa per usare la piega fra le pagine come fulcro per uno schizzo, ma col tempo il disegno ha preso una piega più seria, con vere ombreggiature e un buon quarto di luna con tanto di crateri.

P.S.: sentitevi onorati, ho fatto una battuta nascosta solo nella didascalia italiana. É li nero su bianco.

Star seeder, first steps

🇬🇧 Started the first images that will be part of the final revision of Star Seeder, or Lampioncina Stella. I will update you trough images once all the 20 illustrations are at a good point.

Concept for Theva and Reld

🇬🇧 After another pause, finally a concept in which I was able to fit Theva and Reld together. I have to let me through the Inktober hype to have some inspiration and a good cup of tea.

Good time to bring between the fingers a pencil and some shaders.

I can cheer me up to retake work on the illustrated novel, after a commission thoroughly prepared since August was cancelled because the commissioner felt a brexit-esque smell in the air.

Still few weeks to prepare the new blog with the movement of all stories (basically what is remaining here) and leaving this as a bilingual information point and request portal.

🇮🇹 Dopo un’altra pausa, finalmente un concetto in cui sono riuscito a far centrare sia Theva che Reld. Per farlo mi sono dovuto lasciare al flusso dell’Inktober che permea tutto e accompagnarmi ad una buona tazza di tè. Buon tempo per avere fra le dita una matita e alcuni pennini da inchiostro.

Posso gioviarmi nel rimettere mano sul romanzo di Blind Hug, soprattutto per riprendermi da una commissione preparata con perizia da agosto e cancellata dal richiedente per paura dell’odore di Brexit nell’aria.

Ancora qualche settimana per spostare i racconti (le poche cose che mi sono rimaste) e stabilizzare questo blog come puro portale informativo bilingue.

Parte diciannovesima

La profonda ferita che il ragazzo ha ricevuto lo ha portato ad essere internato in ospedale per una manciata di giorni a necessità di accertamenti, per questo la mattina successiva trasferito nel reparto di medicina acuta, in una stanza a tre letti la cui finestra si apre sul panorama frastagliato della città.
Una cosa ben osservata da Glisia risulta che Reld è completamente solo, letteralmente.
Il suo cellulare ha memorizzato non più di una decina di contatti, lei e sua figlia inclusi.
Le uniche visite che riceve sono da parte di lei e di Theva.
